Family will never realize just how painful some things that they do can feel.

Just saw some article that pissed me off and reminded me of a few things I’ve experienced growing up. I guess people of color aren’t allowed to experiment with different styles of choice. We could be labeled as “ trying too hard ” or “ fake ” etc. So I guess none of us could express ourselves, we just have to be placed in the box you set us up in. Growing up in junior high school I was trying to find myself but not even that, I would just dress myself in what I thought looked nice and people would say “ ew what are you trying to do, are you trying to be scene, punk, rock, etc ” like no shuttup I like what I like and just do what I like to do. Unlike you who’s too worried about what people think therefore limiting yourself. We’re all human, with one life, different interests, and can be as versatile and flexible with our outside appearances however we please. You guys are pathetic for thinking someone’s supposed to remain the same for the whole life. Open your damn mind.
